(King Khalid University) KKU & Nazaha Hold International Anti-Corruption Day Meeting

On Thursday, December 8th, and under the patronage of His Excellency the University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami, the university, in partnership with the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority “Nazaha”, held a meeting entitled “Promoting the Values ​​of Integrity and Combating Corruption in the Work Environment”. This meeting corresponded to the International Anti-Corruption Day, which comes this year under the slogan “20 years of the United Nations Convention against Corruption: Towards a World United Against Corruption”.

During his speech, His Excellency the University President confirmed that this meeting is part of a series of educational and awareness programs implemented by the University and the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority to promote professional performance values and strengthen professional ethics in work environments. He stressed the importance of work environments in incubating our national and religious duties, which require sincerity, proficiency, and integrity. He also instructed that work environments prevent any ideologies that go against our administrative and professional interactions and disturb our obligation towards fulfilling the duties we are entrusted with.

His Excellency said that “we all recognize our wise leadership’s keenness to ensure that development is achieved, and that citizens and residents enjoy a dignified life, amidst services, and projects that ensure quality life”. His Excellency then added that “the country, may Allah protect it, is making great efforts in this regard and our role must parallel to our country’s mission, he assured that “each of us can undoubtedly improve in this regard in accordance with the tasks and responsibilities entrusted to us”.

The meeting, which was carried out by the General Administration of Institutional Communication at the University in Al-Qara’a, was moderated by the Dean of Graduate Studies at the University, Prof. Ahmed Al Fayaa ’, while on behalf of the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority Mr. Muhammad Al-Firdous a member of the authority, spoke during the meeting about employee awareness and how to combat corruption in work environments, in addition to authority’s role in the process. Furthermore, the Dean of Human Resources at the University, Dr. Muhammad Al- Qarni, discussed aspects of the university’s role in promoting integrity and governance of procedures, as well as the provisions and contents included in the new university system, which enhance governance, achieve integrity, and establish responsibility.

It is worth noting that the meeting included an exhibition accompanying the “Nazaha” club at the Deanship of Student Affairs, as part of the programs and activities to promote the values ​​of integrity on the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day.
